PLAYERS

  1. Every team must nominate seven players for their team prior to the first league game of the season. LISTS TO BE SENT TO THE AFFILIATION SECRETARY. Within multi-team clubs, all players are allowed to play-up twice within the season for the team directly seeded above their own. MULTI-TEAM CLUBS TO SEED TEAMS ACCORDINGLY AND TO NOTIFY THE AFFILIATION SECRETARY OF SEEDINGS. Players can transfer between teams during the season but cannot return to the original team within the same season. A transfer fee of £5 will apply for each transfer.
  2. If a player leaves a club and wishes to join another within the league a £5 transfer fee will be payable to the league.
  3. If a player is of senior school age and of sufficient ability she will be allowed to play in the league.
  4. At the end of the season the top two teams in each division will be promoted to the higher division and the bottom two in each division will be demoted to the lower division for the following season. (Please note it has been agreed that this format may be altered by the committee if required)
  5. Any team dropping out of the league will be liable to a fine, the amount of which will not exceed the amount necessary to cover ALL court and umpire fees for ALL matches not played by that team plus any outstanding monies owed to the league. The exact amount will be determined by the committee.
  6. Each team is responsible for notifying the league Contact coordinator (Julia Clarke) of any changes to team contacts.
  7. All clubs, their players and umpires must be affiliated to the AENA.
  8. New players must be affiliated 7 days prior to taking court. Monies must be paid in advance to the treasurer.
  9. All clubs must be represented at the MKINL and North Bucks County AGM by a player who will affiliate to that club for the coming season.

RULES OF PLAY

  1. Captains will toss to decide first centre pass/ends prior to the beginning of the match.
  2. All matches will consist of four quarters of 13 minutes each with up to two minutes break at quarter time.
  3. There will be central time keeping and matches will start and end on the umpires whistle.
  4. No match will start with less than two umpires unless agreed by one umpire and both team captains.
  5. A player arriving late may only take court after a goal has been scored, before a centre pass and only with the permission of the umpire.
  6. Teams must be on court and ready to play their matches at the appointed times. If this is not the case, the offending teams will be forced to accept an infringement penalty of one goal per minute awarded to the non-offending team.
  7. If a team does not arrive by the start of the second half of a match, the non-offending team will be awarded the equivalent points due for a win. At the end of the season they will also receive goals equivalent to their average score for games played. For example if the team has played ten games and scored 100 goals the average score would be ten. The offending team will also be liable to pay ALL court fees.
  8. All teams will play all other teams in their division twice, according to the fixture list issued by the Fixtures secretary. (Please note it has been agreed that this format may be altered by the committee if required)
  9. Points will be awarded as follows;
    • 3 points - for a win
    • 2 points - for a draw
    • 1 point - for a losing team if it scores more than 50% of its opponent's score.
  10. In the event of a tie at the end of the season, goal difference (goals for minus goals against) will decide the final placing. Should the goal difference be the same, the team with most wins will be placed highest.
  11. Score cards, once signed by the captains and umpires are final.
  12. Any team having a query about the match score MUST NOT sign the score card, and a note made on the duty sheet for that evening. It will be up to the committee and umpiring secretary to pass judgement on such matters.
  13. At least one member of the committee will be on duty each night at each venue and will be the contact for all queries relating to that venue. At least two players from a named team playing at the venue will also assist with the duty.
  14. If an injury is so severe that play cannot continue, the match may be deemed void but this will be at the discretion of the umpires and duty members.
  15. All injuries must be recorded in the duty folder on the same night as the injury occurs. No insurance claim can be made if an accident is not recorded.
  16. The umpiring secretary will provide all teams with an umpiring contact list.
  17. Teams must supply umpires as follows:
    • Match 1 – supply umpires for match 3
    • Match 2 – supply umpires for match 1
    • Match 3 – supply umpires for match 2
    • The teams will pay each umpire (for their game) a sum specified at the start of the season but this MUST BE CLAIMED ON THE NIGHT.
  18. Umpires should be of ‘C’ Award qualification for all matches during the winter league and must be on the Umpire Contact List. For the Summer League, any level will be accepted with the Umpiring Secretary’s permission. Non-qualified umpires may umpire during the Winter League only in exceptional circumstances and with the permission of the Umpiring Secretary.
  19. Teams without their own qualified umpire may use the umpire contact list to find people to umpire on their behalf. Please note that teams without qualified umpires must contact the umpiring secretary with regard to putting one of their team members on an umpiring course at the first available opportunity.
  20. The penalty for not supplying an umpire will be a deduction of 3 points. Teams will also be required to pay the ‘stand-in’ umpire or umpire of the other team the relevant umpiring fee.
  21. Any team having a complaint should notify the committee, in writing to the chairman, and be prepared to attend a committee meeting to voice its complaint.
  22. Any teams owing monies to the league must pay these within 14 days.
  23. Fixtures appearing on the fixture list are compulsory and must be attended.
  24. All teams within the MKINL are able to provide a qualified umpire to the ‘C’ Award standard or are seen to be making an effort within the year to provide one.
  25. All qualified umpires must attend a refresher course within a 2 year period (2 seasons). Failure to comply will result in the umpire being removed from the list and unable to umpire until they have attended the next forum.
